From August 26-30, 2024, Victory Arts Foundation, in collaboration with Tata Power’s CSR initiative, hosted the Victory Dance and Movement Workshop at NIEPID, Kharghar. This unique event used dance as a form of therapy to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities, offering more than just movement—it was about healing, connection, and inclusion.
NIEPID, a government institution working for the empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities, partnered with Victory to create a space where participants could experience the profound effects of dance. Each day of the workshop featured two skilled instructors who guided participants through sessions designed to activate the senses and foster emotional and physical well-being.
The workshop highlighted the profound connection between movement and healing, focusing on how dance can empower individuals by activating their bodies and minds. From the rhythm of the music to the expressive freedom of dance, every element of the workshop was designed to encourage participants to unlock new potential.
Participants walked away with much more than just a certificate. They experienced firsthand how the power of movement can open up new ways of understanding their bodies, emotions, and interactions with the world. The inclusion of sensory experiences in the workshops created an environment where participants felt safe and supported in their exploration of dance as a healing tool.
